CISER protects an area of 9,158.57 hectares of Atlantic rainforest. It is a vast region of native forests that are located near the main sources of the river Quiriri, which provides 17% of the water consumed in Joinville, the largest city in Santa Catarina.
In addition to preserving the forest, CISER has also been planting thousands of seedlings of native species and restoring previously degraded areas. Wild animals that have been rescued by the Environmental Police and are also released at this location, which contributes to the enrichment of the biodiversity. The reserve is also used for environmental studies, in partnership with several universities in southern Brazil.
Because of the ecological responsibility, the company has received six awards. CISER invests in this project because of its great social importance. By publicizing its work and the awards it receives, CISER want to sensitize citizens, groups, organizations and businesses for their responsibilities, inviting them to engage in this important task to promote environmental preservation and the quality of human life.
